Wichian Khongsawat

“The greatest influence of the art pathway is the surroundings that shape me to be me these days.”
No wonder why Khongsawat is one of the most energetic in town. Drawing, painting, creating, imagining, and illustrating stuff around himself got him several accolades unstoppably. “To be an artist is to be realistic to me.” He emphasizes his style of realism.

“It all starts with taking in your surroundings. When I was younger, it was always the illustrations in textbooks that attracted me away from my studies.”

“I began by painting drawings based on the illustrations in Thai textbooks. My first drawing was of a squirrel.” Who knew that regular squirrel tracing paper would be the foundation for this man’s future aspiration of becoming a professional artist?

A little primary school in Chumphon has nurtured and developed him as an artist. He has received appreciation for his painting work and has always received encouragement from those around him.

Background

After continually receiving encouragement, it plays a significant function in generating modest pieces of art while studying. In addition to drawing what was already there, he began to question. How will it feel to develop something from your own thoughts or perspective?
“The fun of painting objects around us with our own feelings is that we never know what will happen, and that piece of work reflects our own concrete creation. It’s a mix of exhilaration and curiosity.” Khongsawat explains the sensation that the tracing art could not provide.

Another thing that cannot be missed to address is his art teacher’s guidance.
“I used to ask my art teacher in high school to teach me how to sketch and every other thing about art. My teacher is always willing to impart his knowledge with me for free “He expressed his heartfelt gratitude. A coach who has pushed him to compete in numerous art competitions and earn prizes as proof of his talent and blessings.

Perseverance in pursuit of the arts

He majored in art at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree. When joining the university, there is a chance to be chosen from the department to compete in the Bualuang Star Contest. This is the starting point that has had a significant impact on the present work style since it is a contest that brings students together for 10 days to create art individually, demonstrating the method and way of thinking about working and making art. At the conclusion of the competition, he applied several work techniques to his experiments in order to develop something new, which he pursued until he attended the master’s degree, integrating the advice of many professors until it came out as a work.

“So many people struggle to get material things, which can lead to unpleasant lives at times. These occurrences beg the question, “What is the worth of life?” Existence and truth are both illusions. The undying truth is no longer today’s world, but the inexorable laws of time.”
